A development by Halbren Homes Ltd, we were appointed to design a contemporary multi apartment scheme in popular Sutton. While at Barrett Haskins Designs, Rob Ranson designed and submitted a full planning application which was won at appeal. The scheme was subsequently detailed up for Building Regulations approval and construction by Paul Grattan.
The site comprises a mix of 14no. 1&2 bedroom luxury apartments aimed at young professional couples. The scheme was therefore designed to be sold to private individuals, and the quality of material and layout was of paramount importance. The block of flats was designed in a contemporary style with a clean and crisp palette of materials. Technically the building was constructed from traditional load bearing masonry, using pre cast concrete floors & truss rafters / traditional cut and pitch, for the roof.
The top floor flats benefit from large vaulted ceilings to increase the volume and sense of space.
