Durley Lodge was a substantial two and a half storey detached house set in a large plot in the Bickley area of Special Residential Character. The proposal was to demolish the existing property and erect a two and a half storey building comprising a total of eight flats with no detriment to the character and appearance of the area, and without affecting the privacy of the occupiers of nearby properties. The result is a mix of one, two and three 3 bedroom apartments in a building that resembles a grand detached house that sits comfortably in the street scene, the palette of materials remains traditional to reflect the local vernacular.
