Church Road

Rewind Pause Forward

Church Road

Working closely with an ongoing client, Offset Architects carried out the full feasibility, planning and building regulations stages for the development of this new apartment block in the popular Crystal Palace area.

The site sits within a Conservation Area, and features some incredibly steep topography, making access and engineering a bit of a challenge! This does mean however that the new four storey block sits neatly behind the existing line of buildings whilst maintaining a pleasant outlook for occupants.

The styling and materials chosen have an industrial look, with brick to compliment adjacent buildings, metal frame fenestration and zinc cladding. Green roofs also break up the appearance and help to increase biodiversity.

All of the necessary ancillary considerations such as refuse area, cycle storage, amenity spaces, sustainability, accessibility and security have been carefully considered, and the development not only reinvigorates the old dilapidated site, but is also a positive contribution to the Crystal Palace Renewal Area.
